What types of mixer-settlers are there?

Date:30-06-2023
A mixer settler is a device used to process a mixture of liquid and solid particles, mainly through gravity separation to achieve solid-liquid separation. According to their structure and operating principle, mixer-settlers can be divided into the following types:

Cylindrical Settlers: Cylindrical settlers are one of the most common types of mixer-settlers. It usually consists of a vertically positioned cylinder into which a mixture of liquid and solid particles enters at the top, gravity causes the solid particles to settle to the bottom, and clearer liquid exits from the top or sides.

Conical Settler: A conical settler is similar to a cylindrical settler but has a conical base. This design provides better solid-liquid separation, as the larger area of the bottom conical region facilitates the settling of solid particles.

Inclined plate settler: The inclined plate settler adopts an inclined flat plate structure, the mixture of liquid and solid particles enters from the top, and then slides on the inclined plate. Due to the action of gravity, the solid particles settle on the inclined plate, while the liquid flows out from the bottom of the inclined plate.

Tube Settler: A tube settler consists of a series of vertically arranged tubes through which a mixture of liquid and solid particles flows. Solid particles settle to the bottom of the tube by gravity, while clearer liquid exits through the top or sides of the tube.Hangzhou Tianyicheng Environment Protection Equipment Co.,ltd is Tubular Mixing Extractor manufacturer. The tube-type mixing extractor independently developed by the company is the first in China, which greatly improves the efficiency of mixing and extraction, reduces investment and operating costs, has excellent operating performance, and has obvious effects.

Wet cyclone settler: Wet cyclone settler uses the principle of cyclone to achieve solid-liquid separation. The mixture of liquid and solid particles enters the equipment through the cyclone device. Under the action of the cyclone, the solid particles settle outward along the centrifugal force, while the clear liquid flows out from the center of the cyclone.
