Laminated FRP Agitators are corrosion-resistant mixing devices engineered for aggressive chemical environments. Constructed with layered fiberglass reinforcement and thermosetting resins (e.g., epoxy, vinyl ester), they combine lightweight durability with exceptional resistance to acids, alkalis, solvents, and high temperatures.

Key Advantages

  1. Corrosion Resistance
Withstands harsh chemicals (e.g., HCl, H2SO4, chlorides) without degradation, ideal for acid leaching tanks or bleach mixing.
  2. Lightweight & High Strength
30–50% lighter than stainless steel, yet maintains structural integrity under high torque and abrasive slurries.
  3. Customizable Design
Layered lamination allows tailored thickness, shaft length, and impeller geometry (e.g., propeller, turbine, anchor).
  4. Low Maintenance
Immune to rust, electrolysis, and UV degradation, reducing lifecycle costs.

Applications

  • Chemical reactors (e.g., sulfuric acid dilution).
  • Wastewater treatment (agitating corrosive sludge).
  • Electroplating baths.
  • Food-grade mixing (FDA-compliant resin options).

Why choose laminated FRP over stainless steel or PP agitators?

Laminated FRP outperforms stainless steel in acidic/chloride environments (no pitting) and polypropylene (PP) in high-temperature applications (stable up to 120°C/248°F). Its layered structure also resists delamination under cyclic stress, critical for long-term use in abrasive media.

How does lamination improve agitator performance?

Multi-layer fiberglass lamination with alternating resin types (e.g., corrosion-resistant outer layer + structural core) enhances:

  • Mechanical strength: 20–30% higher flexural modulus vs. single-layer FRP.
  • Chemical barrier: Prevents permeation of aggressive fluids into the core.
  • Thermal stability: Reduced warping in temperature swings (e.g., 0°C to 90°C cycles).
